Well, BookishLovers, I have to say, Emma Shortt is one amazing woman and she sure didn’t disappoint with the first book in her new series.

Just take that first step…

When Freya finds out that her best friend is a member of Club Smex, an exclusive gentleman’s pleasure club, she is outraged. She loves Zak dearly but the whole idea of the club shocks her. It’s so outdated, so old fashioned and she expects better of the man that she has known since she was in knee high socks and pigtails.

But Zak has had enough of Freya’s judgemental attitude and so he offers her a deal. She has to try it once, if she feels the same after she has experienced it, he’ll give up his membership. Never one to back down from a challenge Freya agrees, but she has no idea that her pleasure buddy will be Zak…or that he’s been waiting for quite some time to finally bind her to him…

I first read an Emma Shortt novel about two months ago, and Waking Up Dead (An End Of Days Love Novel) had me very impressed. So when Emma Shortt told me that Bound By Her Best Friend was, and I quote “quite racy” I didn’t know what to expect. Then I read her Criminal Seduction trilogy, and hot damn, I needed a very cold shower after that. So I sat down with Bound By Her Best Friend, thinking that it couldn’t be sexier than the Criminal Seduction books. And today I am here telling you that I stand corrected. In fact, move over Fifty Shades of Grey, Club Smex is in town. I swear, this book had me squirming in my seat for pages on end and I’m pretty sure my lady bits overheated. Why? Well, if you ever read a sexy scene written by Emma Shortt and you have no reaction to that at all, then I don’t think you’re a red-blooded human being.

I loved the whole friends-turned-lovers aspect. Especially if one of the friends is hiding a secret that completely disgusts the other friend. Deep down, Freya is curious and not wanting to lose her best friend, she accepts his invitation to join him at Club Smex for an evening. Besides, you can’t really judge it unless you try it right?

Zak is the epitome of sexy wrapped in man, and all he wants is Freya. He dabbles in the dark and kinky side of sex, and that makes the appeal stronger to like him. He’s the type of guy who would give up everything for Freya, yet still he remains in the friendzone But boy, does he get out of the friendzone with a bang.

I love reading smutty, erotic romance books. They are my guilty little pleasure and Bound By Her Best Friend was the guiltiest pleasure yet.  It had everything you could want and even a couple of heartfelt moments as well. The sex was scorching hot, the characters were amazing and the plot was easy to follow. And as an added bonus, it made me feel naughty just thinking about it days after finishing the book.

Once again Emma Shorrt has wowed me with her writing, I only wish it wasn’t so short.
